Job Description
As a Level Designer, you will work closely with the Game Designer, Producer, Executive Team, and Developers to design, balance, and implement specified maps and levels of an assigned online game. You will be tasked with creating and maintaining detailed documentation and datasets for use throughout the game’s lifetime, as well as entering all relevant data and findings into associated tools and databases for communication, planning, development, testing, and release.
Understanding mobile and PC strategy-game design, and free-to-play micro-transaction economy mechanics are a definite must have as they will be the mainstay of the Level Designer’s everyday work activities.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Game Designer, Producer, Executive Team, and Developers to design, balance, and implement specified maps and levels of an assigned online game.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation and datasets for use throughout the game’s lifetime, as well as entering all relevant data and findings into associated tools and databases for communication, planning, development, testing, and release.
- Balance the game’s existing strategic maps and create new scenarios and tutorials, adding new in-game strategic goals and challenges.
- Implement and improve the game’s map-based resource economy.
- Ensure the map’s fun and flow, profitability, and ongoing optimization.
- Document all design-related ideas and findings in our design database.

Job Requirements
Qualifications
- You have a strong passion for strategy games.
- You hold a diploma or degree in Video Game Design, Geography, Military History, Computer Science, or other relevant degree from a college or university.
- You have previously participated in game production and development projects, or comparable modding projects.
- You are capable of clearly and concisely articulating and documenting level and game design ideas.
- You are able to communicate effectively and objectively with all levels and parts of a team.
- You are able to work with tight deadlines under stressful conditions in a live environment.
- You have excellent oral and written English skills.
